Some of the Vast Resources at Your Disposal

As well as our own collection of information of over 600 MILLION people in North America, the British Isles and Western Europe, we guide you through the vast resources of the Family History Center in Salt Lake City and its thousands of branch libraries in the USA and Canada.

Nearly everybody in North America can utilize SLC records from a location (Family History Center) near where they live.  In nearly all cases we can help you to find one.  The following records may apply to your own research:

Our research assistance focuses mainly on documents that are of genealogical value (birth, death, marriage, military, land, probate, immigration, church/synagogue, federal and state census, and etc.) WHERE YOUR ANCESTORS lived.

More than 20 years of experience in researching actual records (not just online "bytes") can help you to find your ancestors yourself!

Of course, while there is a great amount available in digital format, MOST genealogy research is done from documents and data preserved on microfilm or microfiche.  We can even tell you exactly what film(s) to order, to start your research!

Not only will we give you a report to assist you in your own research, we will even do an in-house search for you . . .

WE FURTHER ENJOY INSTANT ACCESS TO MORE THAN 600 MILLION NAMES WORLDWIDE.  THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS FOR NORTH AMERICA, THE BRITISH ISLES, SCANDINAVIA (and more).  WE WILL SEARCH THESE DATABASES FOR YOU AND SEND YOU ANY FINDINGS:

A huge database that we own consisting of Canadian and U.S.A. Vital Records that contains information on more than 4.6 million christenings, births, and marriages that occurred in the United States and Canada from about 1700 to 1888. This information came from church and vital records.

1880 US Census - We will research the 1880 US census for you (where applicable) as part of our "Family Tree Consulting and Assistance" package!  This, for under $15.00, is a deal of itself.  We own the entire transcription of the original 1880 United States census. Now you don't have to be concerned with handwriting that is poor, smudged, faded, or microfilmed pages that are too dark to read on a microfiche machine!  Includes the enumeration of individuals within households and institutions. This allows you to view those who were neighbors of your ancestors. Approximately 50 million names are included.

CURIOUS ABOUT YOUR ANCESTORS?

It's easy and exciting to research your own "Family Tree!"  It's important to know your own "Roots" and where you come from - your heritage.  START HERE

• 1881 British Census - This census has information on about 30 million individuals from England, Wales, Scotland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.   It includes people on boats or ships (in port) or who were living in poorhouses, mental institutions, workhouses, schools, hospitals, and other nontraditional residences at the time the census was taken.

• 1881 Canadian Census - This census documents approximately 4.3 million individuals.   Information includes: name, age, gender, location at the time of the census, birthplace, ethnic origin, occupation, religious affiliation, marital status, and notations.  The census records enumerate individuals, grouped within households and institutions, for the Provinces of British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec, and for the Northwest Territories. (The Northwest Territories in 1881 contained the current Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan and parts of historical Manitoba, Quebec, and Ontario, plus the Territory of Yukon and the western part of the Territory of Nunavut.)

• Vital Records Index for Scandinavia - The Vital Records Index for Scandinavia contains information from birth, christening, and marriage records from selected localities in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The Scandinavian church records in this collection contain, in total, approximately 3.6 million birth or christening records and one million marriage records.

The Ancestral File™* database contains approximately 35.6 million names that are linked into families.

Curious About YOUR Ancestors?

While there is a great amount available in digital format, MOST genealogy research requires painstaking, page-by-page, hour after hour work with one's head buried in a microfilm or microfiche machine - going through spool after spool of microfilm or sheet after sheet of microfiche.  This is the part most people cannot do for themselves - and the part we LOVE to do for you.

Many people are so thrilled with the results and our work that they go on to retain us again, and again for either the same ancestral line, or a different line.

* The "Ancestral File", "International Genealogical Index (IGI)", and "Pedigree Resource File" are all trademarked names of the genealogical arm of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
